Hearing diagnostics covers a set of tests that assess how you hear and how the parts of the ear work. The tests are painless and tailored to the age and needs of the patient — from the youngest children to adults and seniors.

What does a hearing test involve?
The test is painless and non-invasive. Depending on the needs it includes tonal audiometry, tympanometry or otoacoustic emissions. A single test usually takes about 30 minutes.
From what age can a child’s hearing be tested?
Hearing can be assessed in newborns (otoacoustic emissions, ABR). Play audiometry is usually performed from around age 6, and the method and timing are adapted to the young patient.
How should I prepare for a hearing test?
No special preparation is needed. It is worth mentioning past ear infections, tinnitus or any medication. If you use a hearing aid, please bring it with you.
What is an ABR test?
ABR measures the brainstem’s response to sound, allowing the hearing threshold to be assessed. It is non-invasive; in small children it is performed during sleep or rest.
